The Trio's members hold degrees from Temple University and the University of the Arts where each member studied with Peter Segal.

      Marisol Rampolla (left in the photo above) has studied in Spain with José Tomás and David Russell. In addition to her teaching duties at the Settlement School of Music, Ms. Rampolla has found time to perform on the local television show Puerto Rican Panorama. Her playing can also be heard on the Anna Crusis Women's Choir CD "Fresh Cut".

      Michael Simmons (right in the photo above) studied with Jack Leonard at the University of the Arts. He was the winner of the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society Competition and he was a semi-finalist at the 1995 National Guitar Summer Workshop Annual Competition. In addition to being an active solo performer, he also performs with soprano Lizette Casals and the Flute and Guitar Duo of Philadelphia. Mr. Simmons currently teaches at Harcum College and the Woodlynde School.

      Thomas Smith (middle in the photo above) is a two time awardee of the Community Education Center's Performance In An Intimate Space series where he composed and premiered Sonata for Guitar & Metal Shop in 1994 and The Wolf Roams for guitar trio in 1996. His arrangements of William Grant Still's Here's One and Danzas de Panamá have been published by the Theodore Presser Company and William Grant Still Music, respectively.

      The Trio has presented concerts for the Latin American Guild for Arts, Matinee Musical Club, Asociación de Músicos Latinoamericanos, and the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society. Abroad, they were the featured performers for the 1999 Festival Internacional de Guitarra de Puerto Rico and for the Third Encuentro Internacional de Guitarra Panamá 1999. The trio has released a CD of music by Vivaldi, Fauré, William Grant Still, and others.
